Misha's Back Story
Misha Waddles quacked herself into our hearts from day one.She was a gift from my daughter's teacher. Ms.Geiger's husband raises ducks, chickens, and turkeys. He is an avid bird fan and was thrilled when he found out we wanted a duck for a pet. This beautiful man doted on a single duck with the letter P written on it. P means Protasio, our last name. We waited several weeks before receiving a message from Ms. Geiger. Our baby was ready. Her husband had to help the is little duck hatch because she was having difficulty hatching from her shell. After successfully hatching, he taught her how to eat. Then the next morning they brought her over and the first words out of my mouth were oh, she is so cute and I could feel my heart flutter. She was the most adorable little creature and she was ours. We named her Misha, and she is now 3 years old.
The other special part of this story involves my youngest daughter, Daniela. Since the day she started talking, she loved ducks and was adamant about getting a duck as a pet. She prayed for a duck for many years. Then when she was 8 years old she mentioned this to her teacher who promptly told her, " We have baby ducks!" The day before Daniela was baptized we received Misha. God gave his little girl this precious yellow fuzzball. Misha came with us on the day of her baptism, and I told the story of God's miracle little duck He gave to Daniela. Receiving Misha on the appointed was providential. To me, it means God hears us and cares about our needs. As long as we are patient and let things happen when He sees fit then only good can come of it. And Misha is just that...good. She brings much joy and happiness to our family.
